Analysis on Two Versions of “See You Again”: Charlie Puth v. Wiz Khalifa

So you’re looking at the title and you’re probably thinking, “Wait a minute, aren’t these guys on the same song?”

Well, yes. That’s obvious. But what most listeners have not realized was that there was a demo version that Charlie Puth had originally submitted (this was before the addition of Wiz Khalifa). I happened to stumble upon it when I was browsing YouTube for a piano version of “See You Again.” Boy, am I glad I did. Puth’s version has a exceptional beauty to it, but I’m not saying that Wiz ruins the song. I mean, he flows into the song tremendously well.

So I decided to do some research on the reasons how this came to be. Continue reading

What Everyone Ought To Know About Happiness

Every time I watch a TED talk, I usually zone out after a couple minutes, but after the video is finished I realized that it was surprisingly pretty educational, although I prefer Vsauce. A couple days ago, I saw a video that talks about synthetic happiness.

I found it pretty surprising, as I thought someone who would win a lottery would be happier than a paraplegic man after a year, but the level of happiness is the same for both.

Life and Its Ups and Downs

“I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.”-Bill Gates

As a lazy person myself, I feel like I just want to quit life and and to stay in bed all day. The weird thing is, when I have long breaks and have nothing to do I actually want to do something productive. Life in my opinion is too unbalanced, some days I don’t even think there is enough time to do everything and get 8 hours of sleep while some days I feel like I’m in solitary confinement. Other times, I wonder if these problems in my life are just complaints from a spoiled brat. I think in life you should always find something positive to look forward to, or else you will become mentally unhealthy. For example, a kid who only has a bunch of honors/AP classes and nothing else in his life may turn to cheating or even drugs if they are too stressed out and find nothing worth going to school for. Although being a couch potato is unhealthy, so is being a workaholic. As my parents would say sometimes, too much of anything is bad for you, even if it’s good in small amounts. For example, sugar may receive lots of criticism for a variety of health problems, is actually important for your health. More information here.

This is what I feel like in the morning.

Death’s Effects On A Young Child / Rain and Funerals

Recently, someone that I knew had passed away. Even though I didn’t know her that well, I still felt a sorrow somewhat for her, mainly because she had left behind a six-year old boy and a loving husband. Apparently, the cause of death was an overdose of sleeping pills, and supposedly along with depression as well. Everyone who knew her told me that the husband cared about her very much, but if he really did, how did she end up depressed? But I can’t say much, and considering how I’m not part of the family, so my details about the death are very vague.
